DVSA Advises Suspension of Classroom Delivery; Introduces Option for Remote Training
On 24th March, in response to the current emergency situation, DVSA advised periodic trainers to cease the delivery of classroom based periodic training. DVSA, however, decided to allow approved periodic trainers temporary authorisation to deliver approved courses remotely via digital platforms. It is not intended as a permanent substitute for classroom training.
As a long established organisation with a solid reputation for delivering quality training in accordance with JAUPT guidelines approval for remote delivery was quickly granted and from 30th March courses have been running 7 days a week.
Online Courses – Zoom
Utilising the free to download zoom platform, candidates participate in a ‘virtual classroom’ from the comfort of their own home.
To attend the session you will be required to have a stable internet connection, a PC, laptop, tablet, or phone with both a camera and microphone (integrated or external) and have installed the Zoom Cloud Meetings app on to the device. The ZOOM app can be downloaded free of charge from zoom.us, the Google Play Store, or Applestore.
Course registration is between 07.30am and 07:45am, this will allow for a prompt 08.00am start. There will be breaks of 15 mins in the morning and afternoon and 30 mins at lunchtime. The course will finish at 4.00pm.
Candidates join the class by clicking on a link emailed to them the evening before each course.
ONLY £49 PER DAY – In these difficult times we have decided to pass on the cost savings (venue costs, instructor travel etc) direct to you. We have reduced our fully inclusive price from our normal classroom based £65 per day to just £49 per day.
Candidate feedback has been extremely positive. In addition to the obvious benefits of price and being able to attend from home, numerous candidates have commented on how participative the sessions were and how comfortable they felt asking questions.
